The EM200ds, a new switch mode power supply, is designed specifically for use with short arc xenon, mercury and mercury-xenon lamps in the 35 to 200 watt range. Its innovative zero crossing design approaches the performance of our linear power supplies.

The Ultimate Short-Arc LPS


Everyone likes the size and weight advantages of switchers vs.linear power supplies. Usually the trade-off  was much higher ripple and noise. Our new line of switch-mode lamp power supplies approaches the performance of our linear LPS's, virtually eliminating high frequency switching transients by applying the next generation technology; namely, zero-current switching and switching frequencies up to 2 MHz.

Research Grade Performance

The EM200ds features research grade performance - less than 0.1% stability after warm-up. Noise and ripple measure less than 0.05% r.m.s. Line and load regulation is less than 0.1%. This superior performance is the best regulation in the industry; and it extends lamp life and reduces unwanted arc wander.

Safety Agency Compliance

The EM200ds is designed to comply with most world safety agency standards. For additional safety, we feature a unique interlock system which addresses numerous safety concerns.

Reliability and Quality Standards

The EM200ds is designed to perform under extreme conditions. Each power supply is burned in at an elevated temperature and line voltage for 24 hours, and is put through an exhaustive quality inspection before being released for shipment. This reliability is backed with our one-year warranty.

Easy to Operate

Installation is literally a snap. All you need is appropriate size wires with ends stripped 1/4 in. Push a small lever on a terminating connector and insert wire. No other tools required. Install separate Ignitor close to the lamp housing with high voltage wires. Interconnect the ignitor to the power supply. Ignitor can be wired to auto-start on power up. Lamp cooling fan can be powered with 12 VDC available on the output connector. Lamp current and lamp voltage can be monitored using a voltmeter. Lamp current may be adjusted from nominal by + or - 10 percent.
